I haven't posted in awhile because...well frankly ....I'm cold. And..there really isnt' anything whoopie to write about. We all have seen the snow and blizzard pics, read a ton of winter recipes and read blogs on 40 eleven things to keep the kids busy on cold days. Everybody in the barn is sick of being in there.They all want out but it is just one big snow field out in the pasture. Our goose has decided to nest in the chicken coup so our gander is very fervently defending the space. Sooo the chickens are laying their 1 egg ...somewhere. The Tom turkeys are in a constant state of fluff. "Yes your pretty but gee can ya move out of the alley way?" Nothing like a couple of big fluffed out toms to take up space. Our barn is 25x50 and is the winter home of 11 goats(anybody want to buy a few?),7 chickens,4 ducks, 5 turkeys and 2 geese not to mention the assorted mice and rats. Space is tight in winter. My cats stay in the house during winter and they are sick of it too. They want to go out only to turn around and want right back in."But but I was sure it was Spring out there" This would be fine but they do it ALL DAY. Then we have our southern friends posting pics of Spring bulbs popping out of the ground and tales of warm breezes...geesh.... My Honey is so wonderful..he bought me a bunch of fresh flowers so I can pretend it's Spring when I look at them. The charm of the woodstove is wearing thin. I've heated with wood for umm..13 yrs . Those of you who heat with just wood know what i'm talking about. The point comes when your just DONE. Unfortunatly that point can come long brefore spring shows up

You didn't happen upon my blog and the fact that I mentioned it has been in the 80's did you lol. I'm sorry for your snow but on the up side I'm sure your summers are fairer then ours. That's when we are stuck inside because it's too hot lol. I guess it evens out in the end huh? Hang in there. I did plant spring bulbs but the squirrels are on the attack lol. Oh well what do you do? Have a wonderful day.
