This is the time in winter I look out of my window and say "Yup, it still is winter" I start to yearn for green trees and flowers. I know we are a long way off from that. I also know that steamy heat can come with green and flowering and Spring is mostly mud here but still.........Lately I just want to sit by the fire and read but that is not a productive thing to do day after day so I've come up with 4 things to do during a winter slump.
...Take pictures of blizzards....(if you look past the barn in the second pic you will see...nothing..our two properties formed a small calm in the storm)

2...Take a nap with a cat...

3..Play with fabric....

4... Roast stuff over an open fire......

Ooo, playing with fabric is good. I haven't done that in....forever. I used to dread this time of year. But anymore I wish it would last just a little longer. There's a newsletter to get out, and seeds to get ordered, and taxes of course. And little boys wrestling tournaments, and little & big girls volleyball tournaments, an upcoming production of Tom Sawyer to help Madeline (aka "Becky") learn lines for. And can you believe softball pitching practice has started already? I'm not complaining, it's all great fun - for us and for them - but I'm not quite ready to have a yard and garden to care for again. Soon, though :)
Hope your hubby is staying safe on the roads through all of this nasty weather! ~Kelli
