We had two sets of twins born Sept 29th &30th. Jackie had twin boys and Jot had twin girls. Both sets have all the beautiful Saanen traits we were breedng for . Their dad, Sweet Hillside HSB Bert, is a regestered Saanen with Sweet Hillside and Pendragon bloodlines. We have been working on breeding the perfect homestead goat. Ones that are sweet natured, have good milking lines plus weigh out well if the bucks are used for meat.We have just enough nubian in them to add a nicely attached udder and the unique personality of nubians. Our last buck was Saanen but of unknown heretige. He was very tall and large boned but very gentle. We had to sell him since our herd is small and we didn't want any inbreeding. He is now living with a much larger herd of milking ladies. This batch of babies are just shy of 6 weeks but are growing very very well. I would like to sell the twin boys as cart or pack goats since they are such a matched set and if they are anything like their parents they will be very sweet. Friday night our nubian Jessie gave birth to a single girl. It was a bit of a surprise because we didn't think she was bred. She usually has triplets or quads and gets huge so we thought she had just gained a little weight(she is addicted to alfalfa ) Jessie is a good mom but she has to be convinced she is. She just does not let the babies nurse right off. We have to go in the first day or so and pet/coddle her while the babie nurses . Then she takes over and is an awsome mom. We have never had to do suplement feeding for her triplets or quads. This one lil girl should be a snap. We had decided not to breed her anymore but... Surprise. She is our first goat and our herd queen so she will be with us all her life. Here are some pics of the moms and kids.

We have a Saanen milker and also still have her kid from this past May. We are hoping to train him as a cart goat. We also have 3 boer females. Our Nubian died last year of old age:-(
