The Change.....

As a woman in my early 50's that title could mean something way different than what I'm going to write about.  In the northern tier of states there is a day, usually in August, that you notice "the change". You wake up one morning and the air smells different, the sky looks different and the humidity of "the dog days" is gone. I noticed last week a slight change to the green of the trees and that the goldenrod blooms were filling out. A few days ago I noticed a few fuzzy acorns had dropped from our huge Burr Oak. NowYesterday...Yesterday was THE DAY.. The sky was a deeper blue, there was a copper tinge to the oaks in the woods and the air smelled different but the BIG CHANGE ?I felt like making pie, stew and cooking all the wonderful foods of fall. In the evening we took a drive just for the pleasure of soaking in THE DAY. We brought along our camara and here is a selection of our photos. Hope you enjoy!!

Yep, here also was the change! I love that day.
Also your pictures are beautiful, I loved the one of the deer and her babies. Isn't it funny how young they are, there ears are as big as their moms?
