Changes are-a happening

We got some good news last week!  As you all know we have been working on a chicken farm, but it was supposed to last only 6 weeks as the farm was under contract and supposed to be sold. Well the good news(for us) is the sell fell through so now we get to move to the farm and work it full time. I am so excited!  Although working chicken houses can be lots of work, it will be easier living there. We will also be making hay during hay season, and there is talk of in the future getting cattle. And just the general up-keep, which is a constant thing when  you have to bushhog up to 200 acres.LOL By the time you finish cutting the grass it is time to start over again.LOL

We will have full use of the land, lakes, ponds.....anything on the farm we want to use we can. The house is a pretty new ranch style....only like 4 or 5 years old. It is bigger than the house we are living in now, and has central heat and air!!!!  That is a biggie for us since we don't have that now. We use window units for air and a wood burning stove and space heaters for the heat. It is going to be soooo nice have a constant tempature in the house from now on!LOL   And the owner is gonna put new floors in for us. It has carpet right now but we would like the wood(laminant) floors. They are much easier to keep clean than carpet when you live on a farm and are tracking who knows what inside.!

We are hoping to start moving this weekend. It means a salary for me, and an hourly wage for my dh, in addition to his regular job. And we don't have to pay rent, it comes with my salary! So we will be saving money as we earn more money!LOL  YEA!!!!

Well I am tired from cleaning the house at the farm(previous worker there left it NASTY!)

Update later....

Nancy

I sure thought the house was older than that when you said it has hunter green carpet. lol. I thought for sure 60s, lol. What did P say about the color of the walls after I talked to him?

Funny you should ask about the colors....we just got back from getting the paint!LOL
Kitchen-Van Courtland Blue (a lighter version of what I have now with a bit of a grey tint)
Livingroom/hallway-Sherwood Green(a med/dark sagey color)
Sheltons and guest rooms-Lancaster Whitewash(off white-it's what Shelton wanted)
Master Bed-Roxbury Caramel(like caramel candies-very warm color, should make the quilt I hang on the wall POP!)
