It's 3am, I wake up to go potty....in my sleep induced fog I am hearing the rushing waters of a creek. Is that creek under my house? Wait a minute! Why is there a rushing creek UNDER my house. Because it is not a creek, it is a broken pipe!

I run outside to turn the water to the house off, and as I pass through the kitchen I hear the water from the wall behind the fridge. I go ahead and run outside at full speed to turn off the water, only to limp and tiptoe back over the rocks and acorns....ouch!

My dog is waiting inside the door and when I let him out I see wet paw prints leading from the kitchen toward my sons room.....OHHHH NOOOOO.

I walk to his bathroom and see it flooded, and the water is flowing into the old vents that used to be the heat vents. That is why I was hearing the water in my bathroom....it is flowing through the heat vents under the house...they are now like water tunnels. As I turn and look into my sons room I see a PUDDLE of water right inside his door. I get the flashlight so as not to wake him and look around the room....the whole thing is WET. And every piece of furniture is tipping and tilting. The foot of his bed is starting to actually go through the floor. I have to wake him up and send him to the couch for the rest of the night so I won't find him under the house when it is time to wake him up!

Dh finds the problem...when he capped off some pipes yesterday, due to the kitchen remodel, the glue didn't hold and one of the caps popped off. I went to bed at 11pm and found the leak at 3am so I don't know who long it was actually gushing out!

Well with the water off and it being dark outside we just went back to bed and waited till daylight to get to work on fixing the problem.

Dh fixed the pipe really easily, but we had to pull up ds's whole floor and are gonna have to pull out all the insulation underneath. We are going to have to bleach the floor joists to keep the mold and mildew away. And then we will put the whole thing back together.

Needless to say the excitement over the new kitchen remodel was dimmed by the Great Flood!LOL

But it is getting fixed and all is well......one step foward and two steps back, right?

I will post pics of the floor with holes and everything when we are done with the fix-up.

Gather the animals two by two and get some hay to keep them fed, lol. I know its not funny, but you know me, I try and find humor in everything, But I guess since its not me I should not be laughing huh. My brother will fix it for you.
