Well it has been a week since we put the tile down to put the woodburning stove on. But with Paul renting the new shop, and us being busy with that and him working late we haven't gotten around to the grouting part. So tonight after we made another run to the shop with a load of tools, carts, and all other kinds of stuff.....we stopped and bought the grout. Paul is still at the shop, but I came home and did the grouting myself. I have never done anything like that before and I hope it comes out alright! It still looks dirty in the pic, but I have to let it dry for 24 hours before I can really clean it good. If I do too much rubbing around on it it will pull up the grout between the tiles. I had to laugh when the tile was finished and I looked at it and saw an....arrow! We laid down new plywood and tile where the fireplace was and it ended up that it was in the shape of an arrow.LOL Do ya see it?!
Are you looking at the funny looking floor before the tile? Well that is the plywood that I painted and sponged almost two years ago. I actually didn't like the shape the sponge left, but others said they liked it so I left it. When we finish redoing the kitchen, I am gonna pull up the tile(not ceramic) in there and sand down the kitchen floor and this one (LR) and re-paint the whole thing in one design. Well hopefully the wood stove will be in place by tomorrow night and that will be another project done! Have a good evening and weekend! Nancy |
