What am I doing wrong???
|
I love the no-bake chocolate oatmeal cookies.....as does my whole family. But when I make them they just won't get firm. I don't think I have ever made any that have set right. Also mine are shiney, whereas the ones we get from my mom or sister or others seem dull in color. I don't know if that means anything.
Can someone help me with this? I follow the recipes, and I have tried several over the years, still with the same result.
Thanks to anyone who can help me.
Nancy

I make them all the time. I think your not cooking them long enough. If you don't cook them enough they are shiney and don't set, if you overcook them, which I have done before, they are dull and crumble when set. It's a science, and if I remember right, I flunked that in high school........lol.......Kitty

I think the secret is to cook them exactly 1 minute. Too long and they get too hard and not long enough they won't set up. It seems to me that the dull looking ones are cooked a little too long?
Hope that helps,
Marilyn
