37 ways to bring peace home...

I found a new magazine today called life:beautiful....it is a faith based magazine. I haven't read the whole thing yet, but this artical caught my attention. It is about ways to bring peace into your life. I will not list all 37 ways right now, but I will do like five now and some later and so on and so on.

First of all it starts with a bible verse:

In Matthew 5:9 Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God."

Sometimes it is the small acts that add peace to your life. As a child of God, be intentional about peacemaking. Here is a sampling of suggestions to bring peace to your life and the lives of those around you.

1.) Listen, listen, and listen more. James 1:19 encourages us to be "quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to anger." Listening carefully creates peaceful relationships and harmony at home.

2.) Learn to adapt. A recent overseas  missions trip with 30 teens adopted the motto "be flexible and adaptable." Have the mindset that you can handle unexpected situations when they arise and life will go more smoothly.

3.) Work off stress. Before you go home, stop by the fitness center or take a walk. Medical experts tell us that exercise releases endorphins that provide a boost to our outlook on life.

4.) Review your expectations. Improper expectations often cause disappointment and strife. Add peace to your life by setting realistic expectations regarding situations and relationships.

5.) Get lost in music. Listening to soothing music brings down your heart rate and creates a sense of well-being. According to Prevention magazine, Raymond Bahr, M.D., a cardiologists at St. Agnes HealthCare in Baltimore, found that for his cardiac patients, listening to classical music for 30 minutes produced a calming effect equivalent to a 1mg dose of Valium.

So far all of these make sense to me.....And I agree with the music one, I love to listen to music, any kind, and it does soothe me. I listen to it according to my feeling and attitude at the moment.

That is all for today, I will try to add some each day till I am done. Now I am gonna go and read more of this great magazine. I think I will subscribe to it!
