but I want to put up a clothesline.  We live in suburbia, but with a fairly good sized lot.  We are about 2 weeks away from putting up a privacy fence and he asked me to wait until then (heaven forbid someone have a visible clothesline in their backyard ).  We live in one those boring neighbonhoods with covenants and in one of those areas with zoning laws  ... well, I shouldn't say that - I don't want to sound as if I am complaining because the Lord has truly blessed us with this lovely home that I like to pretend is my farmhouse. 

So ... waiting until the fence is up to get going on more "homesteading" things like ... putting up birdfeeders and birhouses (to attract more birds), moving my garden (yes, I did say moving it - it's a square foot garden and, well, I just don't like it!), building a potting bench with my Dad when he retires in June, and putting upa clothesline  ... I think my in-laws (who own this house) will think we have really lost it how! 

By the way ... where do I get a clothesline anyway??????????????????

I told my dh I wanted a clothes line too!!!

I 'assume' you can get them at Lowes or any other hardware store??? If I can't find one in the city, I will check out the local hardware store in the small rural town north of me.

We live in the country - but right ON a main state Rt. - so for our girlie under things - I hang them inside the neck line of a t-shirt and clip them there. They still dry - both the t-shirt and personals are not of heavy weight, and this way no one is ooogling our unmentionables, lol.

If you have a Walmart close by, you can get them there too and most any hardware store has the line and pulleys. I'm with Nonni, all our girlie underwear are hung inside.
