Our weekend plans for a painting party with the girls and going to church, etc. has all been canceled and it is all my fault. LOL Well not entirely maybe.
I went to bed Wednesday with a sore throat and a slight runny nose. No big deal right?? I sucked on a cough drop and took an allergy pill. Thursday morning I woke up with a hoarse voice and extreme pain in both ears, and just all around not feeling good. And knowing my body like I do, when I start the slightest of symptoms I jump on it, because I may have a rough yuck feeling day every now and then just because (all of us do don't we??), but when I get sick, it isn't a take a pill and get over it sickness. No when I get sick, I am SICK and usally takes several weeks to get over if I don't catch it at the first of it.
So Thursday night I was coughing a little, and didn't sleep hardly all night. For some reason I was getting up every 30 minutes to pee! How crazy is that. And no I am not pregnant. LOL Friday morning I was up early because I couldn't get back to sleep and while talking to Matthew about how sick I was he volunteered to stay home and take care of me and Noah. (He had a slight cough and a temp and was just generall not feeling good, falling asleep on my lap (never happens) and really slingy and whiney). By the time Noah got up a few hours later, we decided it was time to see the doctor since I was crying and not feeling good and so was Noah. I was taking everything I could over the counter and it wasn't doing anything for me and I thought my head was going to explode. We called for doctor's appointments for us both.
So doc gave Noah some meds and sent him on his way. MY doc on the other hand was very concerned because I never get sick. She first gave me a pregnancy test (told you I wasn't pregnant! LOL) because she was thinking of giving me a steroid and another shot that could be harmful if I was pregnant. When she got the all clear from the nurse, she gave me two shots, and 2 prescriptions and suggested I go to the hospital (across the street) for a Flu test. It would determine which one I had and which med she needed to give me. I was positive for one of them and then got another prescription. She also suggested I take tylenol for my head as well as the other 2 over the counter meds I had been taking before. All in all, I have had 2 shots, 3 prescriptions and 3 over the counter meds! She was very serious about telling me to not do anything this weekend, rest and do not go out anywhere, and to get to the hospital ER if symptoms got worse. (I told you when I get sick, I really get sick) And get this, I had a flu shot last fall!!! Evidentally this is one not covered by that flu shot!!!
I went to the kitchen earlier to put some beef stew in the crockpot and after browing the meat, adding it and the veggies and other ingredients to the crockpot, I was totally winded!!!! I couldn't believe how little energy I have. I can't stand the house looking like it does and I know Matthew is trying the best he can, but he is slower than me and well......I thought earlier I would help by putting the wet clothes in the dryer and start a new load and I had to sit down and rest for the longest time before I had the energy to get up and go potty. And my ribs on both sides are so sore from coughing that I think I popped a few out of place. I am going to make a chiroprators appointment for Monday if possible.
Matthew is being very sweet and understand about the whole thing though. He is being mom and dad, nurse, laundry and dishes maid and well, anything else we can think of to put on his plate. We are praying hard he doesn't get sick (because he is a bigger baby about being sick than the baby is! LOL) and that he stays well!!!
Noah is doing a little better, but he is going through the stage now of not wanting to drink or eat. We decided it is better for him to get sugary things down if thats what we have to do than to sit here and watch him eat nothing at all. Bless his heart....I know his throat hurts and it is hard to swallow. So Matthew bought Kool Aid and we put it in his sippy cup. He won't drink it. We put it in one of daddy's big stadium cups with a straw and he will drink it. LOL Go figure. He is nibbling a little on things but not much. And since the temp requires Tylenol, we are making him take double naps. He hasn't complained about that at all. He is tired and he needs the sleep.
Please pray for our family to get well and get our energy back, and please pray that Matthew stays healthy and keeps up his energy to take care of us!!!!
God's Blessings,
