Tons of Snow!!!!!!!!!

Last night is rained here and froze.  Then today we have already received several inches of snow (maybe 5-6 inches already).  Needless to say it we worshipped from home today.  Our pastor has a radio show each Sunday morning, so we listened to him on the radio and listened to some wonderful Christian music as well this morning instead of getting out in this weather.

Matthew is outside shoveling some snow now, because both of our cars are buried now by the town snow scooping the road outside our house.  He has been outside a couple hours (yes he comes inside to warm up and rest in between) and is almost done.  He has the day off tomorrow since he works for the city, but he is working with an electrician friend of his tomorrow and he didn't want to get up early in the morning to do all the shoveling.  (I don't blame him)

We had some wonderful chilli (homemade of course) for lunch today.  This evening for supper Matthew agreed to make us pancakes for supper! LOL  YUMMY!  There is something that happens to me when we have breakfast for supper.  I begin to feel like a kid who is doing something she shouldn't but with permission this one time.  Does that make sense??? LOL  So I am a kid at heart tonight awaiting our pancake feast this evening.  Matthew makes the best peanut butter pancakes with chocolate chips!!!  Everyone who has been to our house to have them has loved them and raved over them!!!  A friend told me this last week her brother told their mother that her pancakes were ok, but Matthew's were the best in the world. LOL

Today I have gotten some sewing done, and I am hoping to get some pictures posted of what I have done either tonight or tomorrow.  Matthew has been working on painting Noah's new bedroom, and I have been sewing on his wall hanging, blanket and crib sheet for his toddler bed today.  I think I cut the sheet out incorrectly though, so I am going to need to get some more fabric (I will use the fabric for something else, it certainly won't go to waste, but I ruined the 2 yards for the crib sheet. UGGGH!!!) to make it.  Then I am going to make some simple curtains as well.  I am not sure at this point if all the bedding will include a cribskirt or not.  Who knows at this point.

This weekend has been nice though, so relaxing, but at the same time, I have gotten ALOT done. LOL  I have been rearranging my sewing and craft junk as well as finishing up laundry and dishes.  I still want to get the inventory on the canned and frozen goods done today, but not sure if I still have time.  I might have to put it off till tomorrow during Noah's nap time.

Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend!!!

There were a few times when we were living in the U.P. that we were snowed in to the point of not being able to get out to church (and in the U.P. that meant more than 2 feet of snow at one time!). One Sunday morning, small son told Daddy that we could set up 'church' at our house. He went around arranging the living room to look like a 'church', asked his Daddy to prepare a 'sermon' and found the songbooks. We've never had a sweeter time together that I can remember. He STILL asks if we can do that 'all the time' instead of going to church. That was probably 4-5 years ago. Building memories. Aren't days like that grand? I always get SO much accomplished. I've often said just put me in a little log cabin somewhere in Alasksa or the Yukon with plenty of supplies, material and yarn....and I'd be a happy clam! Will be making your vegetarian chili recipe for our chili cook off in 2 Sundays! I'll let you know how if 'fares'.
