I got a new living room this weekend!

Or at least that is what it feels like. Shortly before Christmas, we received a large chunk of money from my parents estate and decided to spend some on furniture and some new pictures and curtains for our living room. We practically live in that room and we needed an upgrade! lol
The furniture came and I LOVE it, but I flip flopped on the decorations for a while before my best friend, Marcia (you can find her blog here: www.homesteadblogger.com/momma35js) helped me out a little with some shopping at Pamida and a gift store nearby. I bought some more items from LTD Commodities as well and suprisingly, buying items from 3-4 different places, and all at different times, they all seem to go together wonderfully. Some of the last items came in this last week, and hubby helped me hang a few items this afternoon. I feel like everything finally fits now. I feel almost like I have a new living room.
We need to buy different curtain rods for the new curtains so we can hang them, and we do plan on painting the room later on this spring or summer, but I already love it!!!! I have been sitting here this evening just scanning my new walls full of pictures and momentos and smiling and hubby has been laughing at me. He said if he knew I was going to beam so much and say thank you to him so many times, he would have done this weeks ago!! LOL Isn't he sweet???
Well it snowed so fast, so hard, with such big flakes today that I think we got almost 3 inches in a few hours. It was coming down so fast, there was literally a blanket of snow coming down and it was hard to see a few feet in front of you. We stayed home today because of the weather and some tummy aches going around our house, but my friend Jen called today and said she would not be coming over for the Super Bowl get together because of the snow and the slick roads. She almost got in a wreck when a truck coming her way with a trailer on the back wiped out a stop sign and a few other signs because of the slick roads. She narrowly escaped, went straight home and called me to cancel. She was a little shaken up and decided to stay home. Later on this afternoon it was sleeting and a mist of rain is falling right now. Hubby has already spent some time unburying his car to get to work tomorrow morning, but said it wasn't very cold out and it looks like things at almost 11 pm are actually melting. Go figure.....now we will probably have ice on top of the snow tomorrow! YUCK! I love the snow, it is gorgeous, but I hate my gas bills, the slick roads and the fact that I can't get any sun with all this winter weather.
I am waiting for spring!!!!
Tomorrow I am bound and determined to get back in my cleaning gear and do my Monday cleaning schedule and then some!!!!! I need to declutter a cabinet in the living room and reorganize the things on our bookshelves while cleaning tomorrow.
God's Blessings,
Amy Jo
What fun!
