What did you get done today???

Am I the only one who can't seem to get a darn thing done with hubby hanging around?? I am so used to him working Monday through Friday and sometimes on a Saturday that when he is home for any reason during the week, it totally throws me off my schedule for cleaning.  I am not sure why this is either.  There is no logical reason for it.  I have no big excuses really.

The day was SUPPOSE to start off with hubby going to a local town where our church does a food pantry every month.  We are so blessed to be able to be a part of this food pantry.  Our Bible Study group,  had been praying about this for some time, and then several weeks later, our Pastor received a phone call asking him if our church would have the means to give away semi truckloads of food to the needy and those strapped for cash, etc.  He said of course, we will do whatever it takes, and asked if this was a one time thing and he was informed that it was not.  Now our church hosts a food pantry day in 2 different towns once a week!!!  It has been such a blessing.  We help out over 500 families per town once a month with groceries and neccessities!!!  Anyway, hubby planned on going to help out today after requesting the day off 3 weeks ago, but he got sidetracked and didn't get out of the house all day!!

So, we watched some movies, I fixed lunch, we played with Noah, talked, went over our family monthly budget, fixed dinner together, bathed the little one and put him to bed, and now we are in separate rooms on the internet.  LOL  After all that togetherness, we needed some private time.  LOL  We had a good time together today though even if I didn't get anything done!!!

Tomorrow hubby will be helping a friend out all day with electrical jobs, so I am planning on catching up on the laundry and hopefully the dishes as well, and possibly get some more sewing done as well.  I want to take some time to make some muffins and cookies as well for hubby to take to work with him on Monday.  He loves it when I make him cookies and baked goods!!!!

Well, I am off to look for patterns and more supplies to make for Christmas presents.  My girlfriends and I made aprons for friends and family this year,  but we promised ourselves we would start off earlier next year! LOL  So I am starting off now getting the items together and will start on them soon.

God's Blessings,

Amy Jo

Amy, I can totally relate to this post. My husband is self-employed and does construction and he works long and hard and I am used to him being gone a lot as well. But when he is suddenly home, my whole schedule goes out the window, ha.

Just remember, you did get something done...you spent a wonderful day with your hubby, and that nurtures your relationship. :) What a blessing.

~Peace,
Alie

It sounds like a lovely day, even if you didn't get a lot done in the house. Sometimes, it is just such a blessing to have some time together. My Hubby is underfoot a lot, but I have learned to just give him a cleaning chore, and he find something to do outside very quickly, LOL! I can only imagine what the house would look like if it were up to him to clean! On the plus side, he does a great job keeping the cars spotless. I can never figure out the difference, unless it is because one is motoriaed and the other not, lol!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Thanks for stopping by my blog

My kids get weekly clothing allowance and we don't shop at op shops - when I was a kid I had to visit my nana I wasn't close to & all my memory of her was standing outside op shops as the smell of moth balls gave me asthma. Hence I'd rather have less nice clothes and have new. But I am thrifty in many other areas so we can have new clothes.
