My friend Jen and I had been trying to plan a tript to Super Wal-Mart for days and finally made it out in the bitter cold and wind yesterday!!! We made a day of it by eating at Applebee's first and then on to shopping. I had a few things to get for grocery items to finish up what we needed for the month of January. I really didn't need much, because Matthew had already bought milk and bread the day before and we have lots of veggies and meats in the freezer to be used, not to mention our fully stocked pantry. I just needed a few canned items, some pork chops, and produce mostly.
While at Wal-Mart, I also bought a large 3 ring binder and dividers because I will be working on my home management binder this week. I have seen several of my friends here in Homestead's and I am totally inspired to make my own. I am not a born organized person, but lists and such help me alot. I couldn't make my house a home without my scheduling of cleaning adn the monthly menu planner, etc. So I am excited about getting even more organized with this organizer.
I always have to check out the discount scrap fabric bin while at Wal-Mart and found some great purchases. One was a piece of adorable Strawberry Shortcake fabric. I wasn't sure what to make with it but it was too adorable to pass up. I thought I might be able to make something out of it for my neice MIndy. The other thing I ended up getting was a strip of fleece that was blue and purple and had Tinkerbelle on it. When I got home, I decided to blanket sticth around the fleece to make a scarf for my neice Mindy and it turned out really adorable. The strawberry shortcake fabric was just big enough for a pillowcase!!! I finished the pillowcase last night but ran out of the thread to do the blanket stitch around the scarf. My best friend's mom has quite a stash of thread and she told me she had that color and wil be bringing it to me on Friday while she is in town. She is a life-saver, because otherwise, I would have to order online or go to the city to find it. Wal-Mart no longer carries embrodiery thread (which makes me so mad....because we live in rural Missouri and there are no craft stores here within 100 miles)!!!
While at a fabric store last week I bought some adorable fabric that looks like pillow ticking with John Deer tractors and animals on it to make a pillowcase and crib sheet out of for my son's new bedding. I finished the pillowcase last night and I must say it is adorable!!! I will work on more of his bedding this week!!! I can't wait till it is finished. He will just love it!!!
I also worked on an apron and got it finished last night for a friend hubby and I will be going to see tonight. I didn't see her around Christmas, so I am giving her this apron for a late Christmas gift. I am sure she will love it. I have one more apron to make for a friend (she saw the one I made for my SIL and has asked me to make one for her), and then I can focus 100 % on Noah's bedding!!!
Today, cleaning and organizing are mosttly on the agenda today.
God's Blessings,
Amy Jo

What type of apron are you making? That's my next sewing project. I've taken 1 class at JoAnn's fabrics and want to take more.
Blessings to you!
