I received an invitation in the maiil today for my brother and sister-in-law's suprise 25th wedding anniversary next Sunday. I am pretty excited about it. Matthew and I have only been married 2.5 years so 25 years seems like an eternity to me for the time being. LOL They are really a neat couple and we have become so much closer in the last year or more with mom and dad's illnesses and then their deaths. I am so glad I have a big brother like him. I am blessed with (some) family members who understand me, love me and are the best support system you could ever ask for.
So today I am home alone!! LOL Rarely does this ever happen on a weekend, but I am enjoying the peace and quiet. Matthew went off with a friend today to help him with his electrical business and little Noah is napping away. They are so sweet and innocent when they are napping aren't they?? LOL
So far today I have cleaned and straightened up the living room (still need to dust though), and did some dishes that were piling up on me. Usually I am on top of the laundry and cleaning due to my cleaning schedule of picking one or two rooms per day and cleaning, but with the family being sick last week and my energy level still not back to normal, I have had a hard time getting back on track. By the end of the weekend and possibly even tonight I should have the other 2 loads of laundry done and put away and the dishes done and put away.
I am going to gently remind Dh that I need a movie or some other kind of date night tonight or tomorrow night. We didn't do much last night and he might be home late tonight, so we will plan on tomorrow night. Often it is as simple as putting Noah to bed and watching a movie on the movie channels or renting a movie. We are kinda home bodies most of the time. LOL
We recently got some money from my parents auction sale, and Matthew has suggested (without any proding from me at all), that we spend it overhauling the kitchen!!! YIPEEE!!! I like this house, but it is old adn needs some updating from the 1940's homemade cabinets and the 1950's stove. LOL It is a conversation starter all night though. We knew when we bought the house, the kitchen needed to be redone badly, but we haven't had the time and the money at the same time in the last year and a half. I want new cabinets and countertops, new sink and fixtures, all new appliances including a dishwasher, and new wood laminate flooring, as well as new drywall. I am not asking for too much am I??? LOL A trip to Lowe's this weekend should tell us if we can afford what I want on our budget. I am really excited about it though.
I fixed the ymmiest chicken enchiladas the other night (recipe is in my blogs), and then last night I made spaghetti. I have no idea what to fix tonight or when, since I have no idea when Matthew will be home tonight! Maybe some chicken adn roasted veggies. He loves them and they are easy to warm up if he misses supper.
This weekend I plan on doing my monthly grocery trip (a little late because of the flu in the family and all), and already havr the meny planner made up for the rest of this month. I love going to the grocery store and getting everything needed in one big trip!! I hate going to the store for 5 things and DH putting 13 more things in the cart. And I have learned my lesson not to ever send him to the store with a blank check, because he buys 65 dollars worth of junk food when all I asked him for was milk and bread!!! LOL
Making cookies and muffins this weekend for DH's lunches. He isn't watching his waist so I can make them for him, have one and send the rest with him to work to eat on. LOL He loves blueberry muffins and my peanut butter cookies, so I will most likely make them this weekend.
Well that is all for now. I will be posting some recipes later though.
God Bless,
