Well, we have unfortunately had the flu and all that jazz at our house this last week.
Noah, our almost 18 month old started off with it on Monday evening, thhrowing up several times and then slept all night. He was fine for a few days. Matthew (DH)< got it early Wednesday morning and was the biggest drama queen you have ever met over it. I love him, but sometimes men can be such babies when they are sick. He was throwing up and sitting on the toliet all morning. At 9:30 when he stopped tossing everything he ate the day before I asked him to take some anti-d meds adn he refused until almost 3 pm. Then shortly after he says you have to take me to the hospital cause I can't breath. I kinda wondered if he was exaggerating, but I took him anyway cause I knew he was dehydrated. We spent most of the afternoon in the hospital and the doctor kept him all night to get him re-juiced. I started in with it that evening (except for the throwing up part) and tooik my medicine immediately and then had the aches adn pains for a day or two. Matthew came home on Thursday morning and he and I have continued to get better since then. Noah on the other hand got it AGAIN on Thursday and has thrown up once a day since then but only in the middle of the night. I finally got him in to see the doctor tomorrow and hopefully they can give him something to stop all this insanity!!!
As for the rest of this weekend, Matthew was wonderful in helping out with laundry (because we had plenty) and dishes (because I wasn't able to stand long enough to do them), and helped out with Noah (because he didn't want to have anything to do with me for once)!!! He started painting the upstairs bedroom this weekend as well. OK, he only got one wall done, but with everything else going on, that is pretty impressive. LOL
Tonight we had left overs for supper. Tomorrow I will make roasted pork loin with veggies and if I have some time, I will make some cookies for Matthew to take to work with him this week.
Well, I am outta here. |
Tuesday, October 9, 2007 - Fighting the flu
~~~~ My BF Marcia will laugh at this when she sees you calld me Betty Crocker. LOL If you only knew me several years ago, you would call me the Microwave queen as she did. I never cooked anything unless it was boxed or jarred and it could be heated up in the microwave. LOL But the pluses are, now I can do cakes in the microwave!!! LOL
I am not always so strong throughout things in my life, but I have the Lord on my side all the time, and some great friends who seem like family to me, and well, a few close family members too. LOL
