Our First Meal on the Wood Cook Stove!
We were able to cook our first meal on our new cook stove today. So much fun! I am still learning the ins and outs but I am getting the hang of it all. We had fried potatoes, steak and onions, and corn. We also used it to heat up our lasagna this afternoon. I am trying to get it heated up enough for a cake here in a moment but I thought I would show a pic of our supper for anyone that is interested. Have a great night!

I don't see a picture but it sure sounds good. I hope you do enjoy your stove. It will take some getting use to, building a fire before you cook. It is great to see that some people are still living the old way.
My grandma always had a pile of special wood cut for her cook stove. My grandpa would cut up wood that was about ten inches long and about three inches thick. He would cut one end over and over about four inches down. It would look like broom straws on the end when he was done.
This wood was the bnest for staring a quick, hot, fire.
Maybe you can have some special wood cut for your stove.
