The Cole Homestead

Trouble Comes in Threes!

Trouble number one:

We had two chickens that would never go back into the coop at night.  They always sleep on our front porch on a bench.  Well that was till the other night.  My hubby and I were talking on the couch at about 9 at night when we heard a horrible noise.  Two of the biggest coons had come up and ate our to chickens.  Of course one of them was my daughters favorite hen.  She seemed to accept this change quite well but it really bothered me.  I should have tried harder to get them to start roosting in the coop.

Trouble number two:

I have a sister that has always caused problems for our family.  She is the type of person that is never happy and tends to want to make other hurt in order to make herself feel better.  Anyway she decided to come get her tractor that my father left her in 2003.  ( Long court battle with her and stepmom)  A year ago my grandmother told her to come get it or she would be charging her rent.  Well, a few weeks ago she decided now was the time ( she had a buyer for it).  She called gram to ask how much the rent would be and gram told her 800.  Well, sister decided to bring the sherrif out so she could get the tractor with out paying.  This has bothered my Uncles and Gram to no end.  No to make matters worse she has started to spread rumors.  My dad always told me that people that know you will know the truth.  I have to believe this but sometimes it can be hard.

Trouble number three:

I just ordered my wook cook stove ( a little over 2000 dollars with shipping and everything else) last night and then my hubby calls this morning to tell me that when he arrived a work the power steering went out on his car.  We are now having it towed from a hour away back to our local repair shop.  That means I need to load up the kiddies and go retrieve the hubby which means I have to go through two really huge towns.  (Peoria ILL being one of them.  I don 't do major traffic well.

The good news is that I know that I can get through this and in a month or two this will be a distant memory.  No big deal.  This too shall pass.

You are right. By December, all of this will be long gone. Everytime we hit a rough patch, I try to think we have gone through them before and we will make it through. I pray for God's guidance in your lives.
Blessings,
Trixi
