My mother in law called this morning wanting to go to the local Amish Bakery and Bulk Food Store. They normally bake on Fri and Sat mornings and she had a real craving for cinnamon rolls. While she was stocking up on rolls and cookies, I was shopping for all of my bulk goods. Potatoes were 14 cents a pound, all purpose flour for 9 dollars for a 50 lb bag, and many spices for a quarter of the cost at the local grocery store. They are also handeling many new items. Jerky spice, pickling spice, and even powdered milk. Jello is also so much cheaper here. They also sell many animal needs items and some of the children class crafts. One little boy had made a man on a hay rake with a horse out of plastic canvas. So cute! We spent quite a bit of time there sharing recipes, canning tips, and playing with the children. The store is about 30 minutes away so we do not get to travel there very often but we aure do enjoy our trips!
