Homemade pickles

I made a small batch of homemade dill pickles today (11 pints).  I plan to make some bread and butter pickles tommorow but out of summer squash.  I have not made them in a few years but they always used to be a favorite around here. 

I visited my grandmother today as I do every Sunday.  It is so nice to have one day of the week where they whole family can gather.  She made a lovely red velvet cake with cherries and whip cream inside.  So wonderful!
