My poor husband is finally finished plowing and tilling. He says by next year we will have a tiller for his tractor or we are not doing it at all. Both of our arms are so sore! He got the apple trees planted ( 8 Jonathons) and my daughter and I worked on the tomatos. We got 1/2 of them planted so about another 18 to go. Hubby will plant the green beans and peas tommorrow and the kids and I will work on summer squash and cuccumbers. He is going to make me an arbor for my grapes here soon. He called from work the other day to tell me that he plans to take the 4 days after Memorial Day for a vacation. Boy, I can't wait to put him to work. Ever since we moved here 5 years ago it has felt like a up hill battle. The folks that lived here before us made a real mess both inside and out. We have spent the last years making the inside a better place to live and then raise a family. Now it is the outsides turn. We have our chickens and hubby built the coop and run himself. Hopefully we will be able to get a few goats next year. I know I have big hopes but I am willing to put in the hard work. Besides, if Peak Oil does hit sooner than we thought Iwill be needing it.
