Today we drove to town and enjoyed our closest farmers market. Everything was either  Organic or No spray,   2 of our favorite local farms are NOT cetified organic but both have been farming for 25 plus years and use no chemicals. The beef is certified

I spent 42. dollars

8 yummy tomatos

10 pounds peaches picked this morning

6 cucumbers

4 zuchini

4 garlic

1 pint raspberries just for nibbling while we walked,  Ill pick up a couple of flats from the farm directly tommorow for freezing and jam

4 pounds steak

On the way home we stopped by the creek and picked about 10 pounds of Blackberries as well

Hope everyone is enjoying summer and staying cool, we are going on our 3rd week of 100+degrees, so keeping the garden moist has been the top priority around here we should begin harvesting somthing besides green beens in the next couple of weeks.

Remember dont be afraid to talk to your farmers check your classified ads for veggies and when you can take the time to pick them yourselves,

Sounds like you got quite a bit for the money. I sure wish we had a market here, but we don't have any farms around :o( If you don't mind sharing, how much do raspberries sell for there? I have my own bushes thankfully because they sell in the grocery store for $5 for 10 oz!

raspberries run about $15 for a flat from the farmer, to buy them in the store I can get them for about 20 a flat on sale. Raspberries are one of the treats we indulge in every year. I make jam and we eat the rest like candy. However we get wild blackberries for free so it balances out budget wise

We have to drive about 25 miles to our farmers market so I dont get to go as much as I would like. I am already kicking myself for not getting more cukes, we ate 1/2 of them tonight with dinner.
