Prayer RequestMy dh left yesterday morning to go to VA 09:33 - Sunday, February 7, 2010 - comments {0}More Homeschool FunDd and Ds had a wonderful day today. I do believe ds learned a lot. The pics are from Elmo's Birthday Party
Elmo ate to much sugar. 06:38 - Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - comments {0}Happy Birthday Elmo! Today is Elmo’s Birthday. So at our home, we are celebrating. We have had red shakes, read two Elmo books, learning to write the letter E, learning how to spell Elmo and for dessert tonight we will have some type of treat inside an Elmo cupcake paper. Not sure what yet but something. Ds is enjoying this day. One of his many Elmo’s was allowed to do his school work with him. Ds is painting two Christmas ornaments that I picked up on clearance. He is having a blast. These will go on our tree in December and will be taken out every year as a special reminder. Dd did similar ornaments when she was ds’s age. Sweet memories. I love those two children. Our neck of the woods is having a heat wave, 44 degrees
12:37 - Tuesday, February 2, 2010 - comments {0}Fuzzy Brain Kind of DayThis has been such a lazy morning for me. It wasn’t supposed to be but that is how it has turned out. Last night, I got on the treadmill after supper. Usually I get on before lunch. This just seemed to make me tired today. Weird This past weekend turned out to be wonderful family time. We managed to go bike riding and enjoying being outside. Hopefully, Saturday will be a warm and sunny day so that we can repeat the events. We are planning to go to the City, do some specialty grocery shopping and bike riding in one of the parks. That will probably be followed by a picnic lunch. This week is payday week so it will be a busy week. I have to shop at Walmart and Food Lion this week. Along with the other weekly errands this can be time consuming. I do plan on getting up early Friday morning and beating the crowds to Walmart. That ALWAYS makes things so much easier. I am on bi-weekly allergy shots so that will be one fewer errand. That is always a good thing. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. God Bless. I 10:32 - Tuesday, January 26, 2010 - comments {0}We are DEBT FREE!As of yesterday, we are DEBT FREE! Praise The Lord. Dh took a check to the lawyer’s office. All done. Now, I am going to plan a party. Since the New Year began, I have gotten back to a “normal” routine. It has helped our family out so much. There is a greater sense of peace in our daily lives. When momma isn’t happy, no one is happy. This is so true. My feeling better has changed all of our lives. I am taking time daily to be in the word of God and exercise. This is for me but benefits my family. It is hard to do because of the Mom guilt but I am working on times when it doesn’t take away from other things. I read the bible before getting out of bed. Praise Moves is done after getting up. I am trying hard not to stress about things. During January and February, I am trying to see what our new budget will be. My dh told me not to use the B-word anymore. Lol. I usually say Goals but it is really a budget. (Don’t tell my dh 11:06 - Wednesday, January 20, 2010 - comments {7}Just our WednesdayA cake is in the oven baking as I type. Yummy. It is making the house smell wonderful. The extra bonus is that the kitchen is warmer also. Just like everyone else on the blog, it is cold here. It has warmed up some today but it is expected to get colder for the weekend. My poor dh is working in the cold weather. My new schedule is taking shape around our homestead. Things are finally getting done by ME and it feels wonderful. I felt that I was arm-chair parenting for so long. Praise The Lord that season is over. Dd and ds started back to school on Monday. This seemed to help me feel more human. Dh and I purchased a new laptop and this weekend, we will buy new curriculum software. I am praying that homeschool will be back on track for the New Year. Tomorrow will be a day out. I have to get an allergy shot so all errands will take place at the same time. Thank God it will all take place on the warmest day of the week. 03:10 - Wednesday, January 6, 2010 - comments {4}An Easy DayToday, I have to be a brave girl and go out into the cold. Yesterday was cleaning day. All the chores were finished so today will be a slow day. I do have to get supper finished early. Not sure what that will be but hopefully it will be delicious. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. God Bless. I 09:45 - Tuesday, January 5, 2010 - comments {1}Happy New YearHappy New Year! Our home has been a busy place the last few days. I felt good so we worked on getting things ready for the New Year. The Christmas decorations are packed away waiting to be put up next year. The house is cleaned so that we can enjoy the long weekend with no worries. Several “hot spots” have been gone through and organized. The bills are paid and the phone calls are made. I do have several items to pack in a box for the UPS man but the task will be complete in a few minutes. Wonderful. I started the morning in the Word of God and it has set the tone for my day. This year, I have to learn to control my stress level. This can only happen with God’s help. Stress was making me sick. Hope everyone is having a wonderful day. God Bless. I 08:44 - Friday, January 1, 2010 - comments {2}MondayDs and I are enjoying a day at home. Peace. We are rarely at home alone. Dd is at her grandparent’s house for a few days. She will be home sometime today. Ds and I are having a good time just hanging out. No stresses for our day. I am washing clothes and just getting a few chores done. The house is in great shape so not much to do. Our Christmas turned out wonderful. When you feel good, life is a lot easier. Our family was able to do a lot of fun family traditions. We looked at Christmas lights, decorated a ginger bread house, listened to Adventures in Odyssey, made ornaments, made crafts, counted Nativity scenes and other fun family activities. Dd read the Christmas Story before Christmas dinner. Hope everyone had a day. God Bless. I 11:29 - Monday, December 28, 2009 - comments {3}TuesdayI should have posted sooner but was busy with life. On Thursday, We were invited to a homeschool party. I didn’t tell the kids about the party until the morning of. (I wasn’t sure how I would feel.) Praise The Lord, I felt wonderful and was able to go. We had such a wonderful time. I am so thankful that the HSM’s knew what I needed. I am so thankful for Amanda and Linda. Thanks. They gave me some wonderful advice about my homeschooling problem. Sometimes it is just good to bounce some thoughts off people who walk in your shoes. This Christmas is such a blessing. My health has improved. PTL! Hope everyone has a blessed Christmas. God Bless. I 06:06 - Tuesday, December 22, 2009 - comments {3}MondayHello Everyone! Hope you are having a wonderful day. Not much going on around our home. We went to the city on Saturday to celebrate at Red Lobster. It was yummy! My breathing is horrible, again, so I made sure that I took a breathing treatment before going. I forgot to take my 12 o’clock medicine with me and it was horrible. This will never happen again. I will always take my meds. We still managed to have a decent time but could have had better. We have to limit so many things because of my illness. Tomorrow will be another trip to the doctor. I am thankful that I am able to go. This is a blessing because many people aren’t able to go to the doctor as they should. Every night my dh pats my hand and tells me not to give up. He tells me I am on the mend. Sweet man. Hope you have a blessed day. I 11:31 - Monday, December 7, 2009 - comments {1}Our Big SurpriseOur family paid off the house tonight. Praise The Lord. This was exciting news and it was accomplished with a lot of hard work. Every cent went towards the house. WOO HOO! I have prayed over our debt situation for three years. We paid off our van, car and now house. I would say that we are completely debt free but we are not. Two years ago we were in an car accident. A non insured high driver hit our van while we were in SC. Yikes. He fled the scene. We had to higher a lawyer to fight the insurance company to prove he didn’t have any insurance so that we could claim it on our uninsuranced motorist policy. Anyway, nothing has been done in two years. I will be calling the lawyer and getting a total for his non-work so then, we will be debt free. I think of this as our stupid tax. So little compared to where we have come from. It doesn’t even worry me. Praise The Lord. Hope everyone has a blessed day. I 06:36 - Wednesday, December 2, 2009 - comments {7}Prayer RequestHello HSB. Our family is going through a situation about homeschooling our dd. My dh and I are thinking about putting her back in Public School. I ask for your prayers in this situation. Thanks. I02:59 - Tuesday, December 1, 2009 - comments {1}Wonderful Family TimeHope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Our family was able to stay at home and enjoy our time together. Thursday was a day filled with FOOD. I cut down the amount of food that I normally make. I still ended up with a lot. Lol. This year, my family, put up the Christmas tree on Friday. I have felt poorly the last couple of years, so the Christmas Tree was always put up last minute. I am feeling better, most of the time. I try and get my to-do list done during the good times. We have enjoyed getting the house ready for Christmas and watching movies. I have Little House on DVR so this is one of our favorites. My family doesn’t know yet but by the end of the week they will be getting an early Christmas present. The Lord has blessed us so greatly. Don’t tell anyone because they don’t know it yet. 01:16 - Sunday, November 29, 2009 - comments {5}FridayI got my test result back last night. I am so thankful for this test. I was wondering when I would ever feel “better”. Since last November, it has been rough. I have been to so many different doctors for so many different things. All of them can be linked back to this one problem. Of course, I didn’t know this at the time or I would have saved myself a lot of time and money. Anyhow, I went to the pharmacy today and got two new prescriptions. I will take this course of treatment for 4 months and then get retested. Praise The Lord.
We had some errands to run this morning and then headed out to the pharmacy. This pharmacy is over an hour away. I was worried about becoming too tired but everything worked out okay. Ds was wonderful during the drive and the errands. We stopped at Sonics and he got an Elmo ice cream. That kept him occupied on the drive home. Lol. My biggest goal for the day is to get all the clothes washed up. That is a lot to do because most of the day was spent outside of the house. The house needs to be cleaned but I am out of dust masks. I will get dh to pick some up for me. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. God Bless. I 03:45 - Friday, November 20, 2009 - comments {2}A Good DayAt night, I have started working on a few Christmas gifts for the children. We are having a small Christmas, gift wise. But as a family, we will have a wonderful Christmas. I made both of the children journals. They are customized for each child and turned out wonderful. I also made ds some bean bags to throw. I will put together some kind of game to go along with this. The only present left will be a Nintendo ds holder. This will be for dd. It is easier to sneak around and make something for 4 year old than a 13 year old. Last year, I was sick and it made things so hard at Christmas time. This year, I am still sick, but am still getting things accomplished by starting earlier. All of my craft projects are from material that was already on hand. That is always a blessing. Today is the last day of my antibiotics. I am feeling better but not trying to do too much. I am taking it slow and easy. I canceled all the appointments for the week so that I could stay at home and rest. The weather has been cold and rainy most of the week so it was a blessing to be able to stay at home. Thanks for all the prayers and notes. When I check on-line, I usually do my breathing treatment. This means that I can only use one hand. This is why I haven’t been leaving messages. I think that my ears are clearing up so this will be a huge BLESSING. I have to go back to the ENT on Wednesday so maybe I will not have to have tubes. Hope everyone has a blessed day. I 11:15 - Thursday, November 19, 2009 - comments {1}SundayI went to the ENT on Monday for my ears. He gave me an antibiotic that was supposed to help my lungs (thought I still had pneumonia) and my very infected ears. I am still not sure if it is helping my ears. I have another appointment to see if they are better, if not tubes. My lungs seemed to be getting worse. I went to the ER, Sunday Morning. Another x-ray and I don’t have pneumonia anymore. That is a blessing. I have bronchitis. More antibiotics. I can’t take prednisone (sp) so he was able to give me a steroid shot that doesn’t have the same effect. Praise The Lord. This seemed to help, almost, right away. The Dr also gave me something for the cough. I took one about 7:00 PM and I am still awake at 2:55am. I am wired for sound. I have had no fever with any of this except with the flu, over a month ago. I read a blog tonight about someone having all of these problems but with a high fever. My flu was a mild case compared to my children. Weird. Soon I hope to right about something other than sickness. Please keep me in your prayers. Thanks for all the prayers and well wishes. I am able to read some blogs but I do get tired quick. God Bless. I 02:53 - Monday, November 16, 2009 - comments {3}Just another Monday I went to the doctor today (Monday). I thought this would be my last trip for a while but it will not. I still have double ear infection and pneumonia. I will take another round of antibiotics and try to heal. It is kind of upsetting because I want to be well. Boo Hoo me! Tomorrow, I will take it easy and do a quick clean of the house. The only day that I have to go out this week will be Thursday, for a short time. Other than that, I will be at home and relax. Ha! I have a four year old boy. I should write that I will try to relax. I am going to try and get in a few naps. We will see. We finally purchased ds a drum set. Yikes! What was I thinking? He will open it Christmas morning. I have yet to order dd's present but this is something to do soon. We are having a very simple Christmas. I want our family to enjoy Christ’s Birthday. Hope everyone has a blessed day. I 07:31 - Monday, November 9, 2009 - comments {2}Wonderful Two DaysThe last two days have been wonderful. I actually have some energy. This has been a wonderful blessing. Both my ears are stopped up but other than that, I feel wonderful. Yesterday, after school work, we had a trip out. We were able to have lunch with dh. This was such a treat because we have been sick. (Seems like forever. Lol.) I should have picked a quieter place to eat. I kept saying, huh! Today was filled with school work, reading, doing all kinds of odd chores. That is the worst part of being sick. (Getting behind in all the little things.) I was thankful for the energy. I got a call this week and got a test result back. Good news. They found out what was wrong with me. Yeah! I have to go to two more specialists (One Friday and One Monday). I will also have one more test done and they already think they know the problem. Thank God. This is such a blessing for me and my family. In two weeks time, I should feel better ALL of the time. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. God Bless. I 06:23 - Wednesday, November 4, 2009 - comments {3}Hello everyone!Thanks for all the messages. I was able to check HSB on occasion while I was sick. It seems like forever. The flu, to me, seemed as bad as they are saying. If we didn’t get “ahold” of the situation it would have been worse. I am very thankful for a wonderful NP. We had a house goal, last week, that wasn’t met Our house routine is getting back to normal. I just don’t have a lot of energy so I am taking it slow and easy. I have a lot of little jobs to get done but I am just doing them one at a time. My “quick” clean of the house is taking me two days to accomplish 10:53 - Friday, October 30, 2009 - comments {0}
