Cleaning, Anyone? And PANIC!

{ 06:48 , Wednesday, November 26, 2008 } { Posted in Just Another Day } { 3 comments } { Link }

Yes, panic.  That would be a good word.  My dad and his wife are flying in today.  We will meet for lunch, and then they will drive down to her parent's for the holiday.  They will be back here on SUNDAY!  Yes, SUNDAY!  To SPEND THE NIGHT!!!

I was supposed to have "help" in cleaning our house.  But that has fallen through.  Oh, I know.  I have no one to blame but myself.  Really, I don't.  But I just don't know where to start.  Yesterday, I did 3 loads of laundry and ran 2 loads through the dishwasher.  I figure that has to be worth something!  Right???  AHHHHHHHH

So today, my MOM is also coming through town on her way to visit family.  I am sure that we will meet for breakfast or something.

This past weekend, we set up at a Toy/Hobby show. I always have such a ball seeing what people collect!  It's also so fun to see new toys that people have bought before I can get to the stores!  :-)  There are several other toy sellers that I have known for years.  We have a good-natured ribbing of "I got this first" or "what did you sell this for?" and just a bit of fun!

Well, I just took a homecleaning break.  I loaded the dishwasher.  It's running now!  I LOVE my dishwasher.  Back when we were active participants (non-members) of a Plain church...all appliances were considered "bad".  Now, I will admit...I would LOVE to one day live off-grid.  And would even love to join a Plain community.  But for NOW...my dishwasher and I are back to being the best of buds!

Since we did so much organization for the toy show, we "discovered" a TON of toys we didn't know we had!  Yeah!  Now...to get them all listed!  This week, I will be listing Disney's Cars cars on the www.littlestpetshopfigures.com site and some sewing items, such as thread, needles, notions and the like...maybe even some patterns, on www.forthekeeperathome.com site.  Sew much to do!

Oh, wait.  One more funny.  Yesterday morning, I fed the chickens some table scraps...but not their normal feed.  Last night, I said to husband, "Oh no.  You have got to go out and give the chickens their feed."  So dear husband trudges out in the COLD to feed teh chickens.  He came back in and said, "Whew!  They were mad!"  "Really?  I fed them some this morning," I replied.  "YES they were mad!  Big Red pecked me THREE TIMES just to let me know what she was thinking!"  Lesson learned!

Back to work!

Your Sister in Christ,

Avery

I'm sure whatever you get done will be fine. I always stress myself out so much when company comes just to realize later they didn't really care about the house. I know when I go to other peoples houses I don't judge them if there is laundry piled up in baskets or the tub needs a scrubbing. I'm there to see THEM not their tub cleaning abilities. LOL
Relax and hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

We love going out to the Toy/Hobby show, but did not get out there this time. We went to the last one they had. My daughter actually won the prize last time. She won the twenty dollar tickets you can spend on anything. She enjoyed that.

Glad it's you and not me.*smile*

You are funny and richly blessed to see both parents over the holiday weekend. I love how you admit that you use your dishwasher so much. *smile* I use mine if I am projecting or if there are people here and I want to visit as that is hard to do when I am in the kitchen doing dishes by myself. *smile*

Glad you had fun with the toy/hobby show and wish you the best in your endevers to sell your goods on the other pages. *smile*

Happy Thanksgiving. Remember to pray always.-me-(Mommy of two little blessings)
