Tuesday, January 8, 2008 - conspiracy in the nursing home |
Poor Papa thinks there's a conspiracy going on in the nursing home. He said, "When anything happens around here, it gets covered up real quick. This is a very closed place." I tried to tell him it is their job to clean things up quickly. This nursing home is so clean and smells so nice. He's just not used to people being right there to clean up after him when he makes a mess. I imagine it puts him in quite a dither to have several people come in with mops and towels, clean things up, then quickly be back out to care for others. I'm sure he also doesn't understand why the doors buzz everytime they are opened. No escaping that place. They also have a nice sized staff. He's looking forward to spending a weekend with us. It's too bad we don't have the trailor cleaned yet, the weather has been so nice this week. Other than the mud, it would have been a great time to visit. Hubby is very busy with work right now, and the children and I are really trying to get into the new Language Arts. I really think we're going to like it. #3 (almost 8yods) is really liking it. I am a little disapointed about one thing, I was under the impression that the main passages were going to be the same for each level and they are not. Level one is about Daniel, Level two is about viruses, and Level three is about.... oops I forgot, seems like it was a theological issue of some sort (probably something I really should have gotten)... It doesn't seem to be causing any problems though. I'm just having a hard time finding the time to get everyone done... I spend quite a while with the younger ones and am not getting much time with the older two. I think I'm also getting a bit of spring fever, I'm wanting to craft and play board games. (Shhh, don't tell the children!) |

Nothing wrong with crafts and board games. So many games can be educational ... math, spelling, counting, etc. Pull them out on Fridays and have a "day off."

About Me
Welcome! Grab a cup and kick off your shoes. I'm a homeschooling mommy to six precious young'ns. Four girls and two boys ages 1-16. I love all kinds of crafts, especially sewing and scrapbooking. I am also learning to knit and crochet. We live in a hundred year old fixer upper farm house on 50 acres in the boonies. We have goats, horses, cows, dogs, cats, chickens, peacocks and a pigeon. My hubby is a self-employed oil field electrician who likes computers. Everyday is an adventure around here!
