Anniversary Gift & Funnies from the mouth of babes...

This year I have been married half my life.  My hubby got me a nice bunch of roses for our first anniversary, but nothing since.  I'm not complaining really because he makes sure I have everything I need and much of what I really want on a regular basis.  He just doesn't feel gifts are necessary.  Anyway, I feel this year is special and I've been whining to everyone who will listen that he'd BETTER do something special for me.  Well, last month I was sifting through his American Rifleman magazine and came across the "Pink Lady".  Wow, a pink gun, how cute!  So guess what I got for my anniversary!  It is a really nice little revolver and I can't wait to get it cleaned up and do some practicing.  Watch out rattle snakes and skunks!

From the mouths of Babes:  Well, not really the baby this time, the 16 3/4 year old.  Yesterday she asked for a cup of coffee saying, "Maybe it will help with this 'fat-i-goo'."  I had to think about it for a minute before I realized she was complaining of fatigue!  She had been reading this word in her online driver's ed all last fall, not understanding how it was pronounced...

My dad was a gun dealer and collector, and when I was younger, he tried to get me to go target shooting with him. I loved hanging out with him, helping him clean the guns, and we even mde homemade bullets once together. But I always told him I would go shooting with him when he got me a PINK gun! LOL He would laugh and laugh!! He died October 06, and I miss him terribly!! Seeing that pink gun brought back some wonderful memories tonight. If he could only see that gun!! LOL He would laugh and laugh!!

God's Blessings,
Amy Jo

your anniversary gift, this year, Dawnita

Hi, Dawnita, I am Michael Aprile's wife, Kathy (of the family that "is" Life in the Bible Institute, over here in n.e. Tennessee, now). ;o)
From what little I've read on your okpanhandlehomeschooling.com site, and on your blog, here, I sure like what you have written, Dawnita! Sounds like, between you and me, and our oldest daughter, Amy, who sew and loves scrapbooking, we may have several things in common! Maybe we can stay in touch with one another, if you like, and pray for one another, when that's needed.
The Lord richly bless you in all you do, for His glory, Dawnita! (as you know, we are also in ATI; I began our home education journey using KONOS, also; and we like the same materials! I was amazed while reading your list of materials you all have used, on your "other" site.) Hope you have a most blessed day in The Lord's presence! Will pray for you today!
And ... one more thing: I like the idea that you, this year, have been married half your life, Dawnita! You might enjoy this: I feel like I am half dead ... my age now is 50. I plan to live until I'm 100, at least. but that will be a miracle. I truly do not see Yeshua (Jesus) waiting to come back for us believers much longer! So, I will probably never "see" the age of 100, for myself. But ... it would be fun to celebrate it! But only if it is pain free and fun filled ! God is so good!
He has done amazing, miraculous things for me, and I'm sure, for you, also, Dawnita! Much Love to you! Kathy kasawisdom@gmail.com
p.s. Do you know about the Wisdom Searchers "yahoo group" that some moms in ATI began, not too long ago? You can ask ATI / home education advice, ask for prayer, and whatever else you see that God allows to come along, in your life, Dawnita. It is a very supportive group of moms!
