I have been very busy with the farm and garden for the last month and a half. The farm animals are doing well. I lost a goose to a neighbors dog, but they have replaced him with another male female pair. They have bonded very nice with Tessa, the older goose. They are following her everywhere. So are the three baby ducks. My white Peking Gracie fell victim to a fox or coyote the other night. All that I found was a pile of white feathers. Poor duck. We now have 13 chickens (one is sick), 7 ducks, 3 geese. The garden is doing great. I have mulched the beds with hay and dried grass from lawn cuttings. My tomatoes are doing beautifully. I am also growing Job's tears, lemon cuc, lemon basil (smells heavenly), cinnamon basil, lime basil, bees balm lemon, peppers (sweet and hot), cabbage, lettuce, radishes, nastriums, 3 types of watermelon, kiwano, corn (sweet, tom thumb popcorn, strawberry popcorn, and madarin bride), eggplant, many types of squash and pumpkins, ground cherries, and there are strawberries growing that I did not plant. I have planted over 20 types of flowers, I am just waiting for them to grow and blossom. The apple trees have apples but they don't look healthy. The peach trees have no sign of fruit anywhere. The kids are all helping with chores, making sure that the gardens are watered and weeded. They also help with the animals. They are doing such a great job and I am so proud of them. Life is good here at our little farm. I am headed out for there is lots to be done today! Cheerio!
