Hi everyone! Sorry I have not written in so long. Life is busy here with three acres. I know to some it sounds small... but to a city girl like me it is HUGE!! We have moved into an almost ready made homestead, with everything that I really want. We have a root cellar, two small barns, one black walnut tree, 2 hazelnut trees, apple trees, peach trees and a pear tree. We have cleaned up the land, but it still needs a lot of work. There was a lot of trash left behind, but also some good stuff too. There are lots of trees too... I have not identified them all yet but I know we have some ash trees, there are two giant oaks, and various evergreen trees. I also have grapes! As far as I can tell I only have concord, but the other day I found two more grapevines hiding in the ground. I need to rebuild the arbor. I have NO idea how to do this yet but I will figure it out. I also need to learn how to build fencing. And a million other things! The pond is beautiful, huge and covered in duckweed. I have my first compost pile started and it was steaming the other day. Very good sign. Homeschooling is going well, and the kids love it here. Eventually I will have a childrens garden, sunflower houses and pick you own pumpkins so any of you that are in the area will have to stop by our farm! Well, I think that is all for now!
