This year, I will journal the steps that I am taking to
get healthy. I don't believe in quick fixes, but do hope to see long-term results! My hope is that this journal will help me figure out what works
and what doesn't. After having spent over 7 years trying to lose weight, but giving up when my loss stalled, I am determined this time to do whatever it takes
to be "fit by 40!"

... A new year, a new me! ...

I really want to journal my journey toward a healthy me and I'm only going to do this for a year. On January 24, 2009, I will turn 40 years old ... one of those milestones, probably the biggest milestone for me so far. Seems like yesterday I was 21 and getting married or almost 25 and delivering my first child and that 30th birthday doesn't seem almost NINE years ago ... boy, time sure does fly!
I have several health issues which I think that a weight loss and regular exercise program will help. I'll blog about each one of them later. I have tried diets and other various lifestyle changes for about 6 years now and had my greatest success over 3 years ago. But I didn't keep up what I was doing and the weight came back on PLUS some! I currently am at my heighest weight in about 7 years of so! Yikes! Time to take charge of my health and get ready for the next 40 years of my life!
For the next week or so, I'll be blogging basic information about my current stats, exercise routine plans, eating choices and MORE! Today, I'm just getting things set up and ready to roll!

I feel that a lot of my health problems are due to my weight. I need to lose at least 40 pounds, but no matter what I have tried--NOTHING works. I am very very weight loss resistant and it's heartbreaking to work so hard without results. (I have felt defeated before I even started!) This time it's not all about weight. I want to feel better (be able to work in my gardens in the summer hear without huffing and puffing, etc.) I just wanted to encourage you in your journey and say... I'm with ya, friend! :-)

I am with you on this journey. DH and I are also starting the journey to a healthier new us. We started the Master Cleanse today. I thought it would be a good thing to start and clean out the system before putting the healthy stuff in!
