Blogoversary PartyTiany at "Less of Me, More of Him" is having a Blogoversary Party! She is giving away a gift basket with some of her favorite things, and she has asked everyone to tell some of their favorite things on their blog. So here are a few of my favorites:
By the way, have you heard of Raising Godly Tomatoes? If you've never heard of Elizabeth, her 10 children, or her methods of raising children, you should definatley check her out. I've been a fan for awhile, and now Elizabeth has a book out! She is giving one away on Tiany's blog here.
Laced with Grace giveawayI wanted to share a great giveaway from Laced with Grace. The package includes a movie that I have been wanting to buy: The Navtivity Story. Click here to check it out!Book giveawayI enjoy giveaways, and like to tell others about them so they may have an opportunity to win things, also. So I created a seperate category called "Giveaways" that you can check periodically to see what you can enter. Unfortunately, I can't figure out why my categories aren't showing up on the right hand side so people can click on a specific category. Does anyone know a html code or something else I can do for this? There is actually I lot of things I would like to do to my blog, but I'm not very html literate. What I have been able to get on that right hand side has mostly been trial and error!
Anyway, Jen at The Cottage Porch has a giveaway for a book I have been wanting to read, "Created To Be His Helpmeet." I have been trying very hard to learn to be a help to my husband and let him make the decisions, and I would like to see what this book has to say. I'll post other giveaways whenever I see them, and I hope someone can show me how to put my categories on here!
Prayers answered and giveaway winnersI have some wonderful news. My friend who was having a difficult pregnancy gave birth to a 9 lbs., 3 oz. baby boy today! She did have to have a c-section because the baby was still breach, but mother and baby are both doing well. The baby is beautiful, and I enjoyed holding him for several hours while Mom and Dad rested. Thank you to everyone who sent prayers her way. Children are such a blessing!
And now, with no further ado, the winners of the giveaways. The winner of the gardening gloves is Julie Hudson! And the winner of the of the "I'm Too Young To Be This Old" book is Laura Williams. Thanks to everyone who entered. I wil be sending these out this week. I love giveaways! It's a season of giveaways! Circumstances have come up this week so that I was only able to post two giveways, but I may be able to do another next week. In the meantime, today is the last day to sign up for the book giveaway and the gardening gloves giveaway. Also, Tamara at Training Hearts has a giveaway going. It includes 25 different items! Most of them are e-books. Hop over to her Pass the Button giveaway and enter.
And on top of that, Julie Eller, who is an inspirational fiction author and a member of Homestead Blogger, is givning away a copy of her new book, due to be released in September. According to Julie, "A New Promise" is Christian fiction, written for women, and is the story of a family whose lives are in tumult as a result of a mother afflicted with end-stage Huntington's disease. As his adolescent children deal with serious adjustment issues, their father wonders why the God they loved and trusted has seemingly abandoned his family. So make sure you hurry over to enter for a copy of her book. It sounds great!
