Thanksgiving plans

12:14 PM, Wednesday, November 21, 2007 .. Posted in Family .. 0 comments .. Link

Every year for the past several  years (since my mother became too sick to do it), I have hosted Thanksgiving dinner at my house for my brothers and their wives and kids. My mother passed away last year, and we continued the tradition last Thanksgiving. This year, however, my brothers suggested that we do something different. This year, my brothers and I are going out for Thanksgiving breakfast - no spouses or children invited.

On the one hand I'm sad that the whole family isn't getting together now that Mom is gone. On the other hand, I'm kind of glad not to have to cook for everyone this year. But after I thought about it, I realized I enjoy cooking Thanksgiving dinner, so I will be cooking at the house of a family that is great friends with ours.

Here are our Thanksgiving plans:

Wednesday - Thanksgiving dinner at MIL's house. All I have to bring is a pumpkin pie!

Thursday - Hubby working, I am just puttering around the house doing some baking with the kids. Also going to the church to finish making up the bulletin for Sunday.

Friday - Thanksgiving breakfast with my brothers. Might go to some Black Friday sales with them, also.

Saturday - Leaving for S.C. early in the morning. Will spend the day with our lovely friends and cook Thanksgiving dinner before leavng late that evening.

Sunday - Church!

By the way, one of my brothers just let me in on a tip. Here are a couple of Web sites you can go to and find the deals for all the stores: BlackFriday.info and Black Friday 2007
