The hunt continues...

The other houses weren't what we were looking for, but we have high hopes for this one. We have an appointment to see the inside Friday.

On the outside, we love its charm and uniqueness. My son said it looks like one of the cottages at the Renassiance Festival, and he's right. The only drawback to the outside is that the back yard, although large, is wooded. There would not be enough sun for a vegetable garden. I would greatly miss our garden, and our annual fresh vegetables. But if the house is perfect in every other way, it may be worth it. We might can get creative and grow a few things in pots or mixed in the flower beds in the front yard. It wouldn't be our big garden, but it would be something. And we could put the chicken coop in the wooded back yard with no problem. I'll let you know how the tour goes.

I know it has been a few days since this post, and you may have already decided against this house, but, about the gardens - I have seen houses with raised bed gardens in the front yard that are just beautiful. so you could still have your garden.

I LOVE math-u-see. it is easy to understand, easy to direct the learning (you rarely have to teach it), and easy to work with. As frustrated as I am about the lack of used materials, I am kind of seeing that as a good thing: it means that people who have bought it like it, and are keeping the stuff for their next kids.
