God is so good!!!

Please say a prayer of praise with us! After three interviews, a background check and a drug test, Mark was offered - and accepted - a job today! And God, in His infinite wisdom, timed it so that he starts his new job Monday. This is perfect for us because we are starting our new year of homeschooling on Monday. We will all have new schedules with new things to do. Getting things done at home always seems harder when Mark is home all day to distract me ; )  So having him at work will mean we can concentrate on our studies, and it means that many of our worries about finances, etc. will be relieved. Even though we try to lay our burdens at God's feet so he may take care of them for us, I feel as if a huge weight has been lifted off my shoulders.

We had to do without buying science and foreign language curriculum this year due to our strained finances. I will be substituting with stuff I come up with myself, but that means more work for me. And I worry that the kids aren't getting what they need. But thank God we will only have to do this for a few more months before we can buy curriculum!

Mark will have a six week training period before he will actually be placed on the job on his own. The salary is a little over $6,000 a year less than he was making. Because we are very frugal that makes a difference on our little homestead! But if we can get by through his 6-week training period and then another month after he gets on the job, we should be okay. The company offers substantial monthly bonuses. So until then we will continue to struggle financially, but there is finally a light at the end of the tunnel!

Thank you, my dear bloggy friends, for all the prayers you sent our way. Prayer does change things, and with you helped God make those changes!

Thank you, Lord for providing for our family through these hard times. For once again enabling Mark to provide for his family. For allowing us to have this wonderful past three months with our beloved husband and father. And for the knowledge that, through Your grace, we shall continue to be cared forever!

I hear what your saying about having the dh home and trying to get school done. My dh had knee surgery done at the begining of the year and was off of work for three months. He was too disctracting so I let my son have an early summer and we worked threw the summer. Worked out OK.
As for the books that you didnt get, you should check out any local thrift stores and junk shops. That is where I get 80% of my sons curriculum. You would be amazed at what you can find. My dd has even found many of her very expensive college books in the Goodwill for pennies.
I hope that helps............Kitty

Prayers of Praise being said. God is good! We often don't see the good in bad things but we know that God is there. Praise him in everything... alway.

I am so glad that God has answered all of the prayers that have been going up for your family. I know that alot of us in blogville have kept you in our prayers. May God also encourage you and provide you with the strength and direction for a full year of homeschooling. Do you need science for all your kids?? just wondering..... your secret sister (who would rather send you something you really need and not just want)
