Praising God for providing

This is Justin and Alli walking back from the pond after one of their fishing excursions. The kids love having Daddy home to take them fishing two or three times a week, especially Justin. I don’t think Mark or Justin either one are happier anywhere besides at the pond fishing.

Although we have enjoyed having him home, our financial situation continues to be strained. We pray every day that God will lead Mark to find the right job – before we end up in the dark because we can’t pay our power bill. Thus far, God has miraculously provided. Since his unemployment payments are less than half of what he was making, it doesn’t make sense that we have still been able to survive in the same house with the same bills. But every time we think that this is it, we’re going to end up homeless, God has provided. We can do nothing but praise him at this point! He even provided us with a way to hire an attorney for Mark’s hearing. His former company appealed his unemployment, and a hearing was scheduled for this morning.

Imagine our surprise when a reprehensive from his former company didn’t even show up! We were hoping the case would be dismissed because of that, but the company is now claiming that they were never informed of the date and time of the hearing. The hearing will be rescheduled for about three weeks from now, our attorney tells us. I just hope we don’t have to pay the attorney more since the case was continued.

We are hopeful Mark will have a new job soon, although even if he does get a job we still have to win the appeal or risk having to pay back the unemployment he has already received.

Last week Mark sent his resume to a certain company was called in for an interview. Then he was called in for a second interview. Everything seemed to go well, so we are hopeful that they may offer him the job. Please pray! As much as Mark enjoys fishing with the kids, he feels useless at home. This feeling of not being able to provide for his family is wearing greatly on him, I can tell.

I hope everything is well with all of you. Have a happy Tuesday!
