Happy Father's Day!

04:09 PM, Monday, June 18, 2007 .. 1 comments .. Link

This is a photo from earlier in the season of Mark taking a break after tilling up the garden. The tiller is not self-propelled, so it takes a lot of work. Mark was so tired, he didn't even notice me with the camera! The tiller is an old one of his grandfather's. This photo is one of my favorite!

Since yesterday was Father's Day, the kids woke Mark up with breakfast in bed and a gift. Then we made signs which together read "Happy Father's Day." We went outside and took a photo and gave it to Dad. We had talked about this the day before and planned to do it before we woke Mark up Sunday morning.

It didn't go as well as I had hoped because we were doing some very late-night fishing the evening before. The kids were cranky, the wind kept blowing the signs and the sun was in their eyes. So the photo could have been a whole lot better, but here it is. It took so long to do all this that we missed Sunday School and only made it in time for church, but Mark was a very happy Daddy becuase of our efforts!
