Where have I been? It's been a couple of weeks since I posted, but life has been busy. We live in North Carolina, where my husband has lived ever since his birth. But what was once a small town has rapidly become a suburb of a large city. The small town no longer exists. Subdivisions are now the norm and finding a good piece of land in the city has become practically impossible. Real estate prices in our area are also skyrocketing. So since we recently made a decision to look for a place that we could buy and turn into a hobby farm, we have decided to look elsewhere. We have been to Chesterfield County, South Carolina several times now. It was reccomended by some family friends and we have fallen in love with the area. The real estate prices are much cheaper and the country life comes much easier there. Subdivisions are rare, and highway traffic jams even more rare. My husband has been told he can get a transfer within his company to Wadesboro, which is only about 25 minutes from Chesterfield County. I have looked at a couple of places already, but finding a four bedroom home in our price range is not easy. We are also awaiting our preapproval form. All the paperwork has been filled out and was mailed off Friday, so now we are waiting for our certificate of preapproval. Hopefully there won't be any snags and we can move ahead quickly. Please continue to pray for our family as we make these important decisions. Unfortunately, because much of the past few weekends have been spent traveling to find just the right county, city and piece of property to move to, we have missed a lot of church lately. Pray that we will find a place quickly so we are able to move, find a new church home and get back into the routine of living. Meanwhile, the 80 degree weather we have been experiencing here has led us to let the gardens get very weedy. We will be trying to take care of that this week. Here is a photo of Mark and Justin weeding the vegetable garden.
