The fast food challengeIt's seems like an impossible task. Go without eating fast food for a month? Chas has posted the challenge, and I and a few others have accepted (relunctantly on my part). I say reluctantly because I have given myself this challenge before, and always failed at it. Since we are still living in the city, it is just too easy to go a few blocks away and get the kids some chicken nuggets instead of cooking on a particularly busy night. When we first challenged ourselves to homestead, I knew eating out would be one of the first things that would have to go. I have learned a lot since that time. I have learned to make jam, bread and many other things from scratch. It works well until some mini-crisis hits and we all get busy - then back to the restaurants we go! I am going to try freezing things and plan on canning much of what we get from the garden this year, in the hopes that there will always be food on hand. So here we go again, but this time I hope the encouragement of the other homesteading bloggers will be enough to pull us through. They say it takes about a month to establish a habit. If we can pull off the challenge and not eat out for a month, we will have broken the habit. Wish us luck! Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 139 of 168 } { Next Page } |
