Chicksitting

11:25 PM, Wednesday, May 2, 2007 .. 4 comments .. Link

Wow, it's been a week since I have blogged! We have been so busy.... spent a couple of days camping with the Cub Scouts, several days rearranging people into different rooms of the house (long story), a day with church members canvasing the neighborhood, etc.

I have also spent a lot of time with the chickens... These are our first chickens, and we are learning as we go. They seemed to grow huge in the one week they have been alive, and I had to move them to a bigger indoor "coop."  We used a friend's cage and lined it with cardboard. This was before the cardboard was in place.

Yes, Maggie the cat was once again "chicksitting" for me... It's so funny, but I honestly (and surpisingly) don't think she was trying to hurt them. She would reach her paw in and pat at them, but she never once put her claws out. After the cardboard was in place, she found a new perch...

She loves to just sit and watch them scratch around in the cage!
