My chaotic household
With all my nieces and nephews, as well as my kids' friends, it seems that there are extra children at the house several times a week. Usually this is not a big imposition on me, as most of the kids are old enough where they don't need someone watching over them every second. But yesterday I watched my 2-year-old niece for my younger brother while he and his wife ran some errands. Boy is watching her different than watching older kids! My home is not babyproofed, and she is into everything! My own Cub just turned four a little over a week ago, but I guess he was not as curious as my niece. She is generally a sweet little girl, but she just has to be "into" everything! Anway, we ended up having to give up on school yesterday after only two subjects. We weren't getting much of anywhere with me having to jump up every two minutes to retrieve something she had grabbed! She is a darling, though, and she won't stay with many people. I just had to tell my brother to start doing his errands in the afternoons when we are done with school! With all the kids and animals at my house, children from smaller homes tend to react one of two ways. The shy ones sometimes get a little overwhelmed and don't want to stay long. But many of them like the chaotic atmoshpere, as they get easily bored playing by themselves at their own homes. I grew up in a big family myself, so have always been used to households like this. This particular niece is an only child at the moment (though her mother is expecting), so I always figured she wouldn't be able to handle my noisey household. But she loves it! It's her dad (my younger brother) who says he can't handle my noisey house! lol Leave a Comment { Last Page } { Page 145 of 168 } { Next Page } |
