We went Camping!

THe kids have been bugging us about going camping, so we finally said yes. It was fun, but man we picked the wrong time of year!

We live in North Alabama, so we drove over to North Georgia and enjoyed one of their state parks. What a beautiful place! We didn't stay long, but long enough to have hamburgers on the grill, sleep on a hard ground, let the dog play in the water, and get attacked by some funky bees. We had a quiet place to camp that was close to the bathrooms, close to the lake and close to the playground. What was really cool about the lake is that our camp site backed up against an inlet of the lake. The only way to access that part of the lake was through our campsite, so we had it all to ourselves. Our pit bull really enjoyed that - she just can't get enough of fetching balls in the water.

We will plan our next camping trip in better weather, but we are looking forward to it. It is nice to get away from home and have some family together time!

We love to go camping (especially by a lake), but August is definitely to hot for us, even in PA. Glad you had a nice time.
