My name is Catherine and I live and have always lived in Texas.  I grew up in a small town, moved to a small city, moved to what could have been a 20 acre haven but was too young and ignorant to appreciate it.  Moved back to a small town, moved to a big city, and am currently on a one acre lot learning through experience what it takes to homestead.  We have named our little place Felark Field as we share our place with the Felarks (also known as Meadowlarks). 

Our dream is to move to a much larger acreage and live as self sufficiently and simply as possible.  This blog is a journal of what we're doing right, what we're doing wrong, and what we're just doing...not knowing yet if it is right or wrong.  We invite you to share the journey with us.
