Cheaper by the half dozen?!

Have you ever seen the Brady Bunch?  well forget about that!!!   How about "Cheaper by the Dozen"?  well that almost fits......After dh and I were married we had our own "Cheaper by the half dozen"

Although our children had been introduced to one another they didn't get to really interact until we were married!! OH MY....they had all gone to different schools!  My children were 13, 14 and 17 and dh were 13, 6 and 4.  All in a 5 bedroom house.   2 boys, 4 girls.   After a while everyone adapted, but I have plenty of grey hairs to show for it.  My 13 year old was so afraid her clothes were going to smell like a farm and she made gagging noises all the time....grrrrrrr, so of course she was taunted by the others, but she can get in the barn now and clean up like the rest of them!!!

There used to be alot of fighting and competition. but we made schedules and chore lists and after a short period of time, We were married in April and by July they were all beginning to get very close!   A big family has alot of rewards since there are so many different personalities and always someone to help out when needed.

Now that we only have dh youngest at home I can't get used to not cooking big meals.  So I do alot of freezing!!   All in all, the children all adapted to a very simple way of life and we are very proud of them.  My oldest dd is married with 3 beautiful babies of her own and just bought their first home, My son is career Air Force, and my youngest is in college to become a non-traditional teacher.   DH children, the oldest is working in construction, dd 1 will be off to college next year and dd2 is in 10th grade with plans since she was 4 years old to be a Vet.

Ok..enough rambling for today!!
