Canning..winter prepartation

  As I was in the kitchen today I was thinking about all the preparation that we do to get ready for winter.  There isn't one day that doesn't include preparing.  If you think about it, it almost seems like nesting.   Or maybe I was just putting to much thought into it!! I have a habit of doing that! I enjoy knowing that I am putting food up for my family and it sure helps on the food bill.  I managed to get 7 pints of blackberry jam done, 6 more pints of blueberry jam.  a few quarts of beans and picked some beets for dinner tonight.

Everyone seemed to busy on the farm today.  Alot of hay has been baled, we have the new side of the barn full and tommorrow they are starting to fill the old side.   Since it was warm and a nice breeze blowing so the hay mowed this morning was able to be racked and baled this evening.  We have alot of hay on the ground tonight so I really hope it doesn't rain.

Tommorrow is my baking day, I want to make some goodies to freeze for lunches and friends that pop in.  I would like to get 1/2 a dozen loaves of bread made up and in the freezer also.   I do need to run downstreet and bring some jam to a few friends. and run to the post office, but that won't take long.

Well it has been a long but productive day, I am off to do some reading and then sleep!
