A bug amongst Hay & Laundry Soap

is going around town, dh brought it home first and now so gladly gave it to me, I was up most of the night not feeling very well and still feel weak and tired.  I don't have much planned for today, I did have a long list of things I had wanted to accomplish, but it will wait another day.   I do however plan to make a batch of cookies and freeze them for when company pops in.    My garden really needs some tending to, maybe I can do that later this afternoon.

The humidity is finally out of here, still quite warm, but a nice change from the past week.   We were supposed to get rain so Jimmy didn't mow any more hay but I think he deserves to take a day off of it, In the past few days they have managed to put up over 2000 square and round bales of hay in the barn.  A very good year for hay which is a blessing since during the winter months is most of our income.

I had made up a large batch of laundry soap, This is the first time I have made it and really look forward to using it.  The cost to make it was so cheap I was quite thrilled.   If you are spending alot of detergent, please take a look at www.thefamilyhomestead.com and read about the laundry soap, the directions are there as well.   Crystal also has a great all purpose cleaner recipe that I have been using and has save alot of money already too!

Have a wonderful Wednesday :)

I hope you get to feeling more like yourself soon.

I have made the homemade laundry detergent as well and really like it. There's something so freeing about making the things at home that make us so reliant on others.

God Bless,

Question

It's almost time for me to try making some as I run out of the last store bought. I can't find fels naptha. Can I simply buy some good soap from someone here on HSB and use that instead, albeit the whole bar?

Does it have to be soap made a particular way? Um...cold processed vs. lye or something?

Hope you don't mind me asking...thanks!

It's great laundry soap. I'm on my third batch! It's so nice... it does a great job and has lasted about two months each time, so the cost is next to nothing!

I am out of Fels Naptha now, so I think I will try something else next time.... I heard that homemade soap and Dove are also good alternatives too.

jenna :)
