Baking...Oh no and not Thunder?!

{ 02:12, Saturday, July 15, 2006 } { 2 comments } { Link }

I have spent most of the morning baking and after I cool off a bit, I will go back into the kitchen and do some more!   So far I have made Cinnamon Raison Bagels, Honey Wheat bread, a large pan of granola (Crystals recipe), some chocolate chip granola bars, some honey rice krispee treats and a apple pie.  This after noon, I would like to get a few more loaves of bread made up, and some more treats since the grandchildren will probably show up sometime this weekend.

I have also managed to mow most of the yard, and do a little weeding.

But now I am hearing Thunder, not so good, I scooted dh out after feeding him and a friend that is helping him today work on hay, and they just had gotten all the hay tedded (SP?) out and were going to start baling, and it looks like rain over the mountain coming in.  I hope it holds off so they can get everything that is down baled up before it gets soaked.

Off to the kitchen again...will post some recipes later this afternoon.

Sounds like there's lots of good things to eat at Grandma's house. I have to keep baking to a minimum because I don't stay away from it very well! You mentioned your hay fever in an earlier post. I have had asthma and allergies for years. One thing I learned after last year's sinus surgery is the benefits of irrigating your nose with saline. I've been told to do it twice a day for the rest of my life and I intend to do so. It helps with inflamation and helps to drain the sinuses as well. A person can buy ready made saline at drugstores or it can be made from: 1 cup distilled water, 1 tsp salt and a pinch of Arm and Hammer baking soda. Nasal aspirators for adults are available at drug stores. I hope this helps. Allergies are so miserable............Denise
