~ ...are always a little hard for me. Tomorrow I go back to town to work. Three 12 hour days are really a great schedule for me, but it's hard to leave the farm. I come home at night tired, having to get ready for the next day. When my parents leave for their vacation I will need to feed and water the animals, and water the garden. I am determined to do it and purposefully enjoy it! I went out to get the mail and had a couple of surprises waiting out there for me! One of our calves was out! No problem, they still know us as momma's and want to suckle our fingers even when they are 200-250 lbs! So I just led her back into a pen by talking to her and letting her suck on my fingers while we strolled along! The other surprise hasn't been resolved however!! We live by a large feedlot and they have a mexican roping steer who came for a visit. He is beautiful! Red and white with graceful horns that are about 1.5 feet long. Altogether from tip to tip I am guessing a little under four feet! He is calmly eating our weeds for now but I'm worried he will find our gardens and newly planted grass! So I went to give the owner a call and realized we do not have the new owner's number!! I suppose I have a guest for the afternoon. Glad he like our weeds!
~ Attitude of Gratitude 1-longhorn cattle. There is just something about them that makes me smile. Very "old west", dontchya think? 2-sprinklers 3-bees! I'm allergic to bee stings but I look around and all the fruit trees have lots of fruit this year! Way to go my little busy bee buddies! 4-roses 5-ingenuity 6-Memorial Day sales! I need some new clothes. My need for shopping comes at just the right time this year! 7-my truck. It runs well, is reliable and gets me where I need to go. There are alot of people who can't say the same. 8-my grandparents 9-God's promises. My favorite- "I know the plans I have for you. Plans to help you not to harm you. Plans for hope and a future." I am expecting great things! 10-God's faithfulness. He is true to his Word. You can count on him.
Oh I must go! The tree trimmers from the power company are arriving. I will be back next Tuesday, so I wish you all a wonderful week and relaxing holiday!
