More sun today! And the weather feels so warm too! Comparitively speaking of course!
I made it outside yesterday just in time to keep company with my dad while he emptied out the feedbunks. After lots of rain the uneaten hay had begun to mold and rot! Stinky!! We came in and relaxed, and my dog- Valentine, wanted to go back out. So without much thought I just let her out to play in the sun while it lasted. What is it with dogs that makes them think that anything rotten smells like the sweetest perfume? Yep. You guessed it. She had gone directly out to roll in the moldy, soppy, rotten hay that was thrown out into the manure. Lovely. I thought maybe that I could wipe her down with a diaper wipe - NO WAY!! I had only one option; to bring her inside for winter bath. Now, normally I bathe her outside in a kiddie pool and it really is not a big deal. She is a very good dog and will let me clean her up very nicely. But she is a lab mix with loads of black hair.... After we were done my entire bathroom looked like it had been covered with black shag! (Even the ceiling!! I'm not real sure how that happened except for the moisture and trying to blow her dry! Her bath took approximately 1/3 the time that cleaning the bathroom did! Upside is I have a truly sweet smelling pooch and one sparkling clean bathroom!
