We have had a busy week. The public schools were out three days this week because of snow and ice. They did go back today.
When we were busy yesterday trying to get some errands ran and other things taken care of. I guess we have another snow storm heading our way. We wanted to make sure we had plenty of feed for the animals and food for us. We picked up our taxes after waiting a week for them to be done. Nice thing about, they didn`t charge us for doing them. They said they took way to long to do them and didn`t feel right charging us for them. I thought is was nice of them. We should have our tax money back by the end of the month.
I went to Save a lot and spend around 162.00. That will last us 3 to 4 weeks. I buy all my groceries for a month at a time. All my non grocery items in bulk, that way I do not have to go out so much. I am having to spend more at the grocery store for can goods because my garden didn`t do good. I am use to having around 75 to 125 quarts of beans canned but for the last couple years it just hasn`t happen. I have always put up enough stuff to get me from one canning season to the other. I want can I do but hope for a better garden season. I have five plus people to cook for.
I finally broke down and bought a new microwave oven. I have been needing a new one for over a year. I was just to cheap to spend the money. I know this is something that I have never really posted about and it may seem really bad of me. But I am probably one of the cheapest people you will ever know. I like to think of myself as very frugal. We are just on a limited income. We only have one income coming in. I just watch what I spend and how far I can make it go. Now I know you all think I am pretty bad now. lol Example, I usually spend for a whole month 200.00 or less on groceries. This takes care of the five in my family plus my grandpa and DD2 boyfriend. Now grandpa and DD2 boyfriend don`t eat everyday here. Now for my point I am trying to get to, my mom spends over 300.00 a month on groceries. It is just her and my stepdad. Maybe one day I will post on some of the frugal things I do.
Well I have cleaning and somethings to do. Better go and do it. Sorry about all the useless talk.
I would love to hear what you cook for meals on $200 a month groceries! We feed 7 people, 2 adults, 2 older boys, and 3 little ones and I spend that each week!

I don't spend much either. I was taught by my mom all the frugal tips, but she is spending money on groceries like she never has before. She is retired now and is cooking way too much food. She buys it, cooks it, and ends up taking the leftovers to one of her children. She just loves to cook. She would have all of her children and granchildren over every night for supper, if we all could come.She is always busy with something and here lately it has been her cooking. the food prices keep going up each day. We are so fortunate to know how to raise our own foods and be frugal. The things that you and I may know or do are things that some people have never even thought of. So , I am sure there are many out there that are learning from what you might think is "useless talk."lol
