• Thursday, January 31, 2008 - Where I ordered my foxfire books

I was asked about where I ordered the foxfire books.    I think there are 12 books in the series.  I just when to amazon and typed in foxfire.   I always check amazon for books.  The other day I order What every third grader needs to know, for a penny.  With shipping and handling  I paid a total of 4.00.   I think the foxfire books are pretty cheap on Amazon.

Book 11
The old homeplace
wild plant uses
preserving and cooking food
hunting stories
fishing
more affairs of plain living

Book 3
animal care
banjos and dulcimers
hide tanning
summer and fall wild plant foods
butter churns
ginseng
still more affairs of plain living

book 1

hog dressing
log cabin building
mountain crafts and foods
planting by the signs
snake lore
hunting tales
faith healing,
moonshining
other affairs of plain living
this one was the bonus book  I got.  I was not expecting to get it. What a surprise when I opened my package.  Two books for the price of one.

These are the three books I have so far.  I am going to amazon and order some more.

I have read some of the Foxfire books, they are great!!!When I read about those prople it is like reading about my family. In of them a man tells how to make moonshine. I had a great grandma that was a moonshiner. One woman tells how to make soap. My grandma always made her own soap. These books tell how to live of of the land.I want to collect them all.
My mom has been collecting them too.
